Volunteering for Duty: Law Enforcement Officers Become "Passionate Pioneers"
2025-07-11 09:12:53

"In the past, extending a visa required at least two trips and ample time. This time, I uploaded documents and paid online via my phone without leaving campus, and received the approval notice in just a few days, saving time and effort. It was a fantastic experience!" Recently, Marwa Sallah from Morocco praised the "fully online processing" service for foreign visas launched by the North Higher Education Zone Immigration Service Station.

Like her, many foreign applicants who have used the service have given it high marks. This convenient service is part of Jiangbei District’s city-wide "one-stop online platform" for visa extensions, the first of its kind, marking a substantial breakthrough in the pilot program for "online visa extension services for foreigners". It injects new momentum into improving foreign-related administrative services and optimizing the business environment.

Reporters learnt that applicants need only search for "境融智治 (Intelligent Border Integration)” in the Zhejiang Government Service App of "浙里办 (Zhe Li Ban)”, enter the relevant interface, and click "Residence Permit Extension Application" to begin processing. During online submission, applicants can fill in information and upload electronic copies of supporting documents based on clear instructions. The system then automatically verifies basic information and conducts remote identity authentication. Once approved, the new visa will be delivered by mail to the specified address, achieving a "zero in-person visits" process.

Demonstration of the Application Process

In short, through data sharing and process optimization, the "fully online processing" service for foreign visas operates 24/7, allowing eligible applicants to "apply once and wait at home for their visa". Since the pilot launch on May 1, the model has proven highly effective. The online platform has successfully processed 35 visa extension applications, accounting for 23% of similar services during the same period. The average review time for applications has been reduced by over 50% compared to offline processing, effectively solving the problem of applicants "making multiple trips and waiting in queues".

This pilot is an important measure to implement the National Immigration Administration’s facilitation policies and serve our city’s higher-level opening-up. A representative from the Jiangbei Exit-Entry Administration stated that the successful implementation of the "fully online processing" model has significantly reduced institutional transaction costs, improved the quality and efficiency of foreign-related government services, and enhanced the convenience and satisfaction of foreigners working and living in Ningbo. In the future, relevant departments will continue optimizing platform functions and expanding service coverage to provide robust exit-entry service support for attracting global talents and building a first-class business environment.
