"Chinese culture is so amazing..." Recently, the Yancang Community of the Waitan Subdistrict, together with the Business School of Ningbo University, launched a summer vacation cultural activity with the theme of "Appreciating the Charm of Culture and Enjoying the Beauty of Solar Terms", bringing a unique traditional cultural experience to Chinese and foreign students. At the event The event attracted international students from countries such as Morocco, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Syria, as well as summer vacation school children from the community to participate together.
Explanation of solar terms At the event, through the explanation of community volunteers, international students from the Business School of Ningbo University and children from the community gained a deeper understanding of the 24 solar terms and learnt how to cope with the upcoming scorching heat of the Great Heat by adjusting their diet and daily life. International students and community residents learnt the art of drawing moon-shaped fans and making lacquer fans together. They carefully selected colors, dropped dyes into water carefully, and then immerse fans in water to stain them with colors, and exquisite lacquer fans were born in their hands one by one.
Making lacquer fans The students who participated in the activity all expressed that this experiential activity allowed them to deeply feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture. Mohammed Najam, an international student from Morocco, said: "this event allows me to appreciate the magic of traditional Chinese culture. Putting a fan in water and then taking it out make it have a colorful appearance, which is very amazing. We look forward to more opportunities in the future to deeply understand and explore Chinese culture."
At the event In recent years, the Waitan Subdistrict has adhered to the development concept of openness, inclusiveness, and diversity, taking advantage of the opportunity of international community construction to comprehensively enhance social governance capabilities. At the same time, relying on the unique geographical advantages of the Old Bund, more distinctive traditional Chinese cultural activities have been held, aiming to create an international community in the Old Bund area that meets international and cultural standards, and to further promote the integration and exchanges of diverse cultures in the community. |
