"After nearly 20 years, today I am once again fortunate enough to return to my hometown, and to my grandfather's former residence. The old dilapidated courtyard has taken on a new look. The solemn plaque with characters of 'Shao Quanlin Memorial Hall' stands out in front of me... " On July 23, five descendants of Shao Quanlin's family witnessed the unveiling of the Shao Quanlin Memorial Hall, and Shao Quanlin's grandson Shao Chengliang spoke as a representative of these descendants.

Shao Quanlin, formerly known as Shao Junyuan, is an outstanding proletarian cultural warrior, a renowned literary theorist, a writer, and a publisher in China. He used to publish a collection of short stories such as "The Hero" and so on and translated Dostoevsky's novel "The Insulted and Humiliated", etc.. In 1906, Shao Quanlin was born in Chongqing. At the age of 4, he, together with his father, went back to Shao's hometown of Dongshao in the east of Zhuangqiao and stayed in Ningbo until 1919 when he went to the Shanghai Fudan Middle School for study. It can be said that the old house here is a place that carries his childhood memories.
