Ningbo Go female player Wang Yubo, as a member of the Chinese Go women's team, won the gold medal! Wang Yubo was born in Ningbo in February 1996. At the Changqi Kindergarten in Cicheng, Jiangbei, she first came into contact with the game of Go and demonstrated her remarkable talent. After learning Go for a little over half a year, Wang Yubo achieved a good result of winning the fourth place in the "Nursery Cup" for girls in the Children's Group D. After entering the Zhongcheng Elementary School, Wang Yubo's Go skills soared and he became a top player among his peers. In 2006, at the age of only 10, Wang Yubo went to Beijing Nie Weiping Dao Chang to learn how to better play Go, and later transferred to the Ge Yuhong Go Dao Chang to study. After diligent training, she successfully became the first professional female Go player in Ningbo in 2013. Wang Yubo used to become the runner up of the National Individual Women's Group Competition 2015, win the third place of the National Individual Women's Group Competition 2019, and the championship of the National Women's Go Premier League 2020. In the finals of the 14th National Games of 2021, Wang Yubo won the gold medal in the women's individual open group and also achieved the best performance in the history of Zhejiang Go players at the National Games. Cicheng is the hometown of Mr. Ying Changqi, the founder of the Ying's Go point system, and there is a strong Go atmosphere here. Wang Yubo's alma mater, the Zhongcheng Primary School, has trained two professional Go players, namely Huang Chen and Wang Yubo, and has been awarded as a national Go characterized school. Wang Yubo said: "Cicheng boasts both historical sedimentation and cultural heritage. The conditions for practicing Go are also getting better and better.
