In order to effectively coordinate the food safety supervision and epidemic prevention and control, and ensure food safety for the mass public, the Jiangbei District Market Regulatory Administration has solidly carried out special supervision and inspection of catering food safety on the New Year’s Day and during the Spring Festival holiday. As is learnt, this very inspection focuses on commercial complexes and extensive food and beverage blocks. During the inspection, law enforcement personnel strictly and carefully implemented various measures for the prevention and control of the epidemic situation of imported cold-chain food, so as to ensure that the information of cold-chain food should be available on the “Zhejiang Cold Chain”, provided guidance for catering units to store imported cold-chain food and non-imported cold-chain food in different areas according to regulatory requirements, and urged catering employees who have direct contact with imported raw materials of cold-chain food to well protect themselves. The New Year’s Day and the Spring Festival are not only the peak period of catering consumption, but also an important period of time to carry out strict economy and oppose catering waste. Law enforcement officers posted small table stickers advocating “saying no to waste of food” one by one, and carried out in-store publicity activities during the meal period to advocate consumers to order and eat in a civilized manner. Meanwhile, the Jiangbei District Market Regulatory Administration released a “Red & Black List” with the theme of “Saying No to Waste of Food”, publicly criticizing catering units with large amount of kitchen waste, large procurement waste and large amount of surplus meals, and advocating them to learn from catering units that practice strict economy.
