In the morning of May 28, Zhang Ping, Director of the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal People's Congress and River Chief of the Lower Yaojiang River, conducted a river inspection. He emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives on water governance, firmly uphold the political responsibility of "protecting the clear waters", fully execute the duties of the river and lake chief system, and persistently work toward building beautiful and happy rivers and lakes that satisfy the people. Hu Jun, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal People's Congress; Zhang Guofeng, Secretary of the CPC Jiangbei District Committee; Fei Weihua, Director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangbei District People's Congress; and district leaders Zhan Wei and Fan De accompanied for the inspection. Zhang Ping and his delegation disembarked at the Banpu Pier in Jiangbei to inspect the high-quality "aqua-beautiful village" construction in the Banpu Village. They visited the Banpu Art Museum, the Colorful Yaojiang River Party-Mass Service Center, and the Banpu Garden, gaining a detailed understanding of the village's achievements in integrating rural culture and tourism under Party leadership, showcasing the distinctive "ecology + culture" approach along the Yaojiang River.
Zhang Ping noted that high-quality "aqua-beautiful village" construction is a further deepening of the "Thousand Village Demonstration and Ten Thousand Village Renovation" project in the water conservancy sector for the new era and a concrete measure to advance the comprehensive development of happy rivers and lakes. He expressed his hope that the Banpu Village would further solidify the concept that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", strengthen management of the river's "capillaries", and pioneer a new approach to integrated riverbank and village governance, allowing villagers to truly experience the positive changes brought by ecological and environmental river management.
