On April 24, a thematic training session on high-quality patent mining and drafting was held in the Ningbo University.

During the Training

The training invited three experts from different fields, covering scientific researches, patent pre-examination, and patent agency, attracting nearly 100 teachers and students from the Ningbo University, the Ningbo University of Technology, and other colleges and universities.

"High-quality" was the frequent keyword throughout the event. Shifting from quantity growth to quality leap, the current priority is to focus on elevating the creation of high-quality patents. For researchers, how exactly can high-quality patent mining be conducted?

Training Course: "Rules and Value Assignment Logic for High-Quality Patent Drafting"

In the first session, "Rules and Value Assignment Logic for High-Quality Patent Drafting", Wang Guohua, associate researcher from the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared his professional insights. Through detailed explanations covering invention patent drafting, patent mining techniques, and strategies to avoid abnormal patents, he presented valuable experience in high-quality patent drafting with practical cases.

Training Course: "Patent Fast Pre-Examination and Priority Examination Services"

While improving the quality of patent applications, speeding up the process is also achievable. Zhang Yichao, pre-examination team leader from the Ningbo Intellectual Property Center, delivered another excellent training course, "Patent Fast Pre-Examination and Priority Examination Services", interpreting a series of "policy packages" and introducing the "green channel" for fast patent pre-examination. It is reported that Ningbo has established a "full-process" service model for fast patent pre-examination, leveraging the dual-channel advantages to accelerate innovation entities' access to rights efficiently and conveniently.

Additionally, Wang Weijun, partner from the Ningbo Bozheng Intellectual Property Agency, presented "Patent Technology Disclosure Drafting and Search", elaborating on the critical role of IP agencies in high-quality patent applications through case studies. These agencies provide comprehensive and professional IP services, significantly aiding the application process. Drafting a complete and accurate technical disclosure document is also a crucial step for smooth collaboration with agencies.
