Lately, the Affiliated Hospital of Medical School, Ningbo University won the title of China National “Civilization Unit for Respecting the Aged”, thus becoming one of the 6 units in Ningbo winning such an honor.

As is learnt, the hospital has been carrying out activities for the development of itself into a “Civilization Unit for Respecting the Aged” since Year 2015, initiating a variety of favorable services and policies, setting up professional medical care teams, and carrying out all-round medical care and treatment services for the aged. In 2020, the hospital established a geriatric brand of “White Haired Beauty” and a geriatric center, centering on “prevention-treatment-rehabilitation”, fully developing geriatrics subspecialty, actively exploring disciplinary cooperation with nursing facilities, and developing a new mode integrating medical care and daily care for the aged.

Meanwhile, with the establishment of the first geriatric nursing practice base in the Zhejiang Province, the first geriatric research institute in Ningbo, i.e., the Geriatric Research Institute, Ningbo University, has achieved substantial achievements.

For a long time, based on their own work, all departments and 17 subordinate Party branches of the hospital have developed a series of medical assistance and spiritual care service projects for the elderly in Ningbo while centering on the theme of “Caring for the Aged; Focusing on Health”, which have achieved remarkable results.
